Lead Acid Battery Recycling
|
In the present scenario, a battery is used for providing power. Electric battery consists of a collection of cells which are known as electrochemical cells. It convert one form of energy into other form, the second form is electricity. Nowadays, it is used everywhere e.g. in industries, houses, schools, colleges etc. For the last many years people are facing problem related to power shortage, but today we have an alternative that is battery which can be used anywhere, and are portable so we can easily carry them here and there without any problem. Battery can be of two types: chargeable battery and non chargeable battery. Chargeable battery can easily be charged, but non chargeable battery became useless after one time usage. A battery can work according to the load, charge cycle, or according to the life time. Some batteries get charge by wind, water which is considered as the renewable source of energy. Today, we are facing environment problems like air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution etc. Different types of pollution create different diseases and the victims of pollution are human beings, animals and plants. There are some materials that are not disposable like plastic, chemical like lead, nuclear waste etc. These non disposable materials are the main source of water and land pollution as they release many toxic materials, so it is necessary to recycle these materials so that people can use them again and we can save our environment. Lead acid battery recycling is basically a recycling activity; its main motive is to decrease as many batteries being disposed as garbage. There are many types of batteries that can be recycled, but some batteries can be recycled earlier then the other batteries. One type of recycling is lead acid battery recycling. The lead material can be easily recycled with the help of some information. Lead acid batteries are rechargeable, and these batteries are in use from older times. These batteries are very powerful and can work for a long time. These batteries are used everywhere like we can use them in UPS, cars, motorcycles, or they can be used for commercial purposes. These batteries are of many types e.g. gel type, regular lead acid, absorbent glass mat, or sealed lead acid etc. The material that we get after recycling of Lead can be used for different types of applications and for making new batteries. They can be recycled by beating them, by neutralizing acid, or by separating the large particles from the lead. There are many companies that are recycling their products so that they can contribute in saving our earth from air or water pollution. As the lead is also used as raw material so it is necessary to recycle this chemical. Lead acid battery recycling is very necessary as lead is a very toxic chemical, if it enter in our body then it can affect heart, kidney, nervous system, intestine, so it can create many diseases like anemia, headache, abdominal pain etc. So if you are using batteries then never throw them, help in recycling them by doing that you would definitely get benefit. |
